Amy Zellmer Cr. Photog. is the owner of Custom Creations Photography in Shakopee, MN. In business since 1997, she has been photographing boudoir for over 6 years. She is a Past-President of the TCPPA. In 2008 and 2011 Amy was named 2nd & 3rd place Wedding Photographer of the Year by the TCPPA; and has also won numerous awards for her photography and album designs. In 2010 she began My Photo Biz Coach to help inspire and educate photographers to become the Rockstar Photographer that they intend to be.

Grand Re-Opening February 4th / Return of the 4x: A Print Exhibition v2.0!

With the new year, comes a new DPI! Our goal is to off er our members even more this year. With more membership options available, there will be greater opportunity to learn/use the studio and equiptment. Our new website (launches Feb. 4th) will include both a member gallery to showcase your work, and a forum to learn from, and connect with other photographers in the area. Stay tuned for what else we have in store!

Our grand re-opening will be held on February 4th starting at 5pm. Refreshments will be served and entertainment will begin at 8pm. There will be a gallery full of images as this will also be the opening reception for thr 4X exhibit. We will be giving away prizes at different intervals during the evening. This event is open to the public, so bring your friends!

Yes, the 4x v2.0 is here! Last year we had over 130 entries into this unique and wonderful exhibit open to all! Submitted prints had to follow one main rule: one side must be 4 inches! Come see how creative people can get!

Weekly Photo Contest with Howieblog.com!

Beginning in January, the DPI is teaming up with Howie Hanson and his popular blog www.howieblog.com for an opportunity to showcase your work and gain exposure in the community. Each week, the DPI will choose one image to represent the “DPI Best of the Week” which will be posted on Howieblog.com and Facebook! Howie has nearly 3800 Facebook followers (www.facebook.com/howie.hanson) and his blog gets around 380,000 hits per week! Feel free to submit image NOW! Commercial Photography Talk with Jeff Frey -- Change of Date

At 7:00 on Wednessday, February 22nd, the DPI will take an outing to the studio of Jeff Frey & Associates where Jeff will show and talk about his work as a commercial photographer since 1981. This looks to be a wonderful opportunity to get the inside scoop on commercial photography in this area so don't miss this! This is FREE for DPI members, but space is limited! Jeffrey Frey is the owner of Jeff Frey & Associates Photography and CPL Imaging, both located at 2711 West Superior Street in Duluth. The combined operations employ eight people. Jeff has supported his family since 1980, offering commercial-only photography services. Jeff defines “commercial photography” as “nothing for the general public – no weddings, no senior grads, no hockey teams, ……” His work falls into some of these categories: health care, wood products, publishing, advertising, architectural, product catalog, education, industrial, and now especially e-commerce.
